- Innovation that Transforms: Colombia's First Automated Pharmacy
Barranquilla becomes the first city in Colombia to have an automated pharmacy.
On the morning of Thursday, August 15th, the first automated pharmacy in the country was inaugurated in Barranquilla. This is the new Droguerías Habib branch in the major Multicentro High Park project, located on Carrera 51B between streets 1B and 1C. This technological advancement marks a milestone in the Colombian pharmaceutical sector with the implementation of BD Rowa technology—a robot capable of dispensing medications in just 7 seconds, optimizing customer service and inventory management.
At COMPUCABLES NUGER S.A.S., we take great pride in having been a fundamental part of this innovative project. Our company was responsible for the construction and implementation of the electrical systems that power the robot, as well as the lighting, communications, and electronic security of the pharmacy. These systems are not only essential for the efficient operation of the robot but also ensure the safety and operational continuity of the establishment.
The BD Rowa robot not only reduces waiting times but also improves inventory management efficiency, with a medication capture and delivery speed of 350 meters per second. This allows for a 28% reduction in stock time and a 7.3% increase in sales. This project is a testament to COMPUCABLES' commitment to technological innovation in Colombia, and we are excited to continue supporting initiatives that promote progress in our country.
